What’s wrong today: Near total reliance on gas-fed automobile

Take a look at the photo accompanying this Idaho Statesman article. I would not be surprised to learn that ever single automobile in the photo has only one person in it. And then consider the zillions of acres of impervious surface, such as the asphalt strip pictured here. Pollution? What pollution?

Did wolves really kill a cow near Eagle, Idaho?

First, remember that Eagle is a distant suburb to Boise, the capital city of the state. I believe what the former U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wolf recovery coordinator, Carter Niemeyer, told The Idaho Statesman. Period. But I can understand the public chorus — an uproar fed in large part by extreme media coverage, especially local yokel tee vee news. Here’s what the Statesman wrote for a follow-up in today’s edition.

Here’s my brother’s thinking on all this: “Ha, old cow, owner wanted compensation!  No way wolves have made it down that far south.” I agree.
