BuRec says rebuilding Teton Dam still a possibility

The stated reason behind doing so would be to increase the water supply for southeastern Idaho – poeple and irrigators, too. This is a turkey, friends and buckaroos. I and other Idaho State University students floated the Teton River in the mid 70s, just as the Bureau of Reclamation was conducting geological studies on the wall of the river’s canyon. Seasoned conservationists know, of course, what happened as BuRec began filling the fake lake behind its dam: The earthen structure failed, a leak became atorrent. The downstream property losses were astounding. This article outlines the still-alive dream in the eyes of some greedheads.
