Making room for bicyclists in our national parks

I’m astounded that there is even a debate on this topic. Sure, allowing mountain bikes on what historically have been trails for hikers only is questionable. But letting cyclists ride and enjoy their non-polluting hobby on old logging roads, carriage paths and the like is a no-brainer. I fondly remember bicycling on the Colonial Parkway, from Yorktown to Williamsburg, as well as the auto tour road at C0lonial National Historical Park (Yorktown). So, here’s the NY Times with its “debate” article on this subject.
