Montana wildlife agency may hike the cost of licenses, tags

This is now a familiar story in many states. As the pool of eligible hunters/fishers decline, so does the revenue from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses/tags. And, of course, while that happens, the loss of natural land to development, sprawl and road building just keeps going and going. All citizens, regardless of whether they hunt or fish, should contribute to the operating budget of their state’s fish and wildlife agency. One way to get there is through dedicating a percentage of the sales tax to that purpose.
