Calling the oil industry’s bluff

That’s he headline over this NY Times editorial from today’s edition. More finely chosen words from a great paper. And the argument is on-target. And yes, the big spills are horrendous. But so are the tiny but cumulatively huge spills one sees every day in urban America. It’s no wonder inland waterways like Lake Champlain, which is only three miles from where I sit, are in trouble from pollutants, like petroleum, that one finds in storm water runoff. And don’t forget lawn chemicals. Now there’s an industry of suburbia.
