The Allegheny National Sacrifice Zone

Ryan Talbott of the Allegheny Defense Project put together this slideshow of oil/gas drilling on the 500,000-acre Allegheny National Forest in northcentral Pennsylvania after going for a flight in a small aircraft over just one quadrant of the ANF.

The Allegheny is the most heavily drilled federal public land anywhere. It is a veritable pincushion of drill pads, storage tanks, roads, clearcuts, holding ponds and pollution.
