Farmers, America, and the planet would be better off without the Farm Bureau

I remember the day back in the mid 70s when a newspaper publisher instructed me, in no uncertain terms, not to run anymore op-ed pieces from the Farm Bureau. Fast-forward to 2009, and things have not changed much as this newspaper article from Hampton Roads, Va., points out.

Quote of the day

Teton Canyon: A wild legacy at risk

Upsetting news about one of my all-time favorite wild and natural areas, the Teton River’s canyon in southeastern Idaho. While a junior in college (Idaho State University), I participated in a rafting trip down through the canyon with the student outing club. I remember passing through the soon-to-be-dammed area and noticing the engineers’ blasting marks on the face of riverside rocks. Watch a Trout Unlimited video here.
