Ethics? What ethics?

February 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

From a Saturday Washington Post editorial: “If you have to ask the ethics folks for advice about whether you can do something, you probably shouldn’t do it.”

J. Stephen Griles. A Justice Department environmental lawyer. A ConocoPhillips guy. “Ethically challenged” would be a too-nice way of describing the shenanigans outlined in the newspaper’s “Cozy at the Beach” editorial.

And here’s AP writer John Heilprin’s straight-news piece about the Cozy at the Beach vacation home. And you can find out how Griles fit into the coal-mining raping of Appalachia in this Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article. And you can read Griles’s extremely-weak denial of “ties to a lobbyist” in this Post-Gazette piece.

All this reporting. Now you decide.
